Last month my friend Dave and I were honored to have been invited to participate in The Governor’s Advisory Council on Disability Affairs Quarterly Roundtable. Along with families, self-advocates, community leaders, and professionals, we were able to discuss what is working well for individuals with disabilities in Louisiana, where gaps still exist, and how we can continue strengthening services and supports across Acadiana. Both Dave and I have the privilege of walking alongside incredible children and families every day. Their experiences, challenges, successes, and resilience continue to shape our perspectives and fuel our passion for advocacy.
